Ready to hit the road!

Ready to hit the road. This past weekend we took a family trip to St. Louis.  We had a great time and loved spending it with family!  We did so much that I did a post for each part of the trip.  Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

St. Louis City Museum

Before we headed back home we went to the City Museum.  The kids loved going through the caves and climbing through all the stuff.
One last family picture for the trip.

Lexi wasn't too sure about the caves

Hunter got a little scared so Uncle Ryan had to help him
 perfect spot for pictures
In the red circle is Lexi waving to me.  These tunnels are in the whole ceiling.  Dirk had to go with her of course because she was a little scared.

Drury by the Arch

I love our hotel we stay at in St. Louis!  It is right by the ballpark and Arch.  My favorite place to eat is Max & Erma's...unfortunately they closed this year and there is an Italian place there now, which is not very good.  We still had a great trip and the free happy hour was loved by our whole group..minus the kids. LOL  The lobby has a great place for pictures so I made my kids and hubby pose for a couple.

Our walk to the Arch

On friday evening the guys (Dirk, Hunter, and Ryan) went to a Cardnial game.  The girls plus Kelsey decided to walk to the Arch.  Lexi had to carry this fart machine that Aunt Erin had gotten Hunter.  As we are going through security she had to put it in the tub to be scanned. The security guard thought it was funny and had to play with it.  We had a good time!

Posing in the model tram that takes you to the top of the Arch.  Lexi wanted NO part of that!  She hates heights.
In the gift shop they had these bonnets :)  I made Lexi put one on..she was thrilled! LOL

After the Arch we went to TGI Fridays for dinner.  On the way there Lexi saw a carriage that looked like Cinderella's.  After we ate we took a ride on it and she thought she was hot stuff!

The Butterfly House

The butterfly house was neat!  I loved taking the pictures of them.  Lexi and Hunter like it but started getting freaked out when they tried to come land on them. LOL.  It is pretty hot and stuffy in the actual butterfly area so the guys took the kids out why we took pictures.  Erin and I wanted this blue butterfly to land so we could take a picture..it finally landed but didn't open it's wings so we didn't get the picture.

this is not the one Erin and I wanted to land but was still pretty.

This is the one that wouldn't open it's wings for Erin and I to get the picture.  You can see part of the blue though :)

If you look close this one looks like the spots on the wings are shaped as hearts.

I like the pink one!

St. Louis Zoo 2011

We took a family trip to St. Louis this past weekend and here are some pictures of our dat at the zoo.

Aunt Erin, Lexi, and Grandma Cheryl trying to touch the stingrays

Kelsey pushing Erin and Emma in the cart.

The whole group minus me taking the picture

Uncle Ryan, Emma, Hunter, & Uncle Kelsey touching the stingrays

Lexi was our tour guide with the map.  She had to stop and show Uncle Kelsey where were were at and where we were going next! Very cute!

The hippo swam right next to Lexi so I snapped this picture.  She looks so small next to it's head :)

This is some video I got of them at the stingrays.  Lexi couldn't reach the water very well but wouldn't let you hold her over the edge because she was scared you would drop her.  She was also afraid to touch the stingrays :)

~Hunter's 6th Birthday~

Last year I started making the kids birthday cakes.  This year Hunter picked Darth Vadar.   The cake part was really good.  The frosting on the other hand not so good.  The frosting is really good frosting even when coloring it, but because I had to add so much coloring to make it black it had a funky taste to it.  Not to mention that when everyone ate it their mouths were completely black!  I told Hunter after this cake he couldn't pick anymore that were all black! LOL.
Thanks Grandpa Carl for the homemade ice-cream!!

Loving his Darth Vadar cake!

The Darth Vadar cake Hunter had to have!  He thought it was the neatest thing when he saw it.  It takes almost all day to make these but the smile on his face when he sees the cake Mommy made him is all worth the hard work!
Posing with his Bergners box for Uncle Ben. (it is a Scott family Christmas joke)

Uncle Jon and Tammy stopped by.  Jon played with the kids almost all night.  Here Lexi and Emma are getting horse rides from him.

Hunter's Kindergarten Fieldtrip to the Family Museum

I'm really late in posting some of these pictures but I wanted to get them on here.  I got to go with Hunter's Kindergarten class to the Family Museum for their fieldtrip.  I loved that I got to spend the day with my little man ..and the museum was pretty neat too.  He loved having Mommy on the trip with him.  The kids that had parents there got to ride home with them.  Me and 2 other moms were in charge of a group of 6 kids.  We had a great group!

The kids at the cloud machine.  When you pused on the black part a big puff of cloud came out.

 The sand machine.

 Hunter loved the tornado machine!

 Climbing the rock wall

In the middle of the trip I realized that Hunter and I needed a picture so we held out the camera and took this self portrait.

What a great group of kids!
