Parent / Teacher Conference

Last night I went to Hunter's parent/teacher conference.  Dirk stayed home with the kids instead of Papa watching them because Hunter wasn't feeling well.  First I have to say I love Hunter's first grade teacher.  She is so great with the kids and is always such a pleasant person to talk to.  She is also great at communicating through emails on a regular basis, which I love because I always want to know how he is doing before it is time for report cards.  She said great things about my little man it makes my heart melt.  She said he is above the class average in all of the areas which is great news! (although sometimes his writing is horrible like his fathers LOL)  She also said that he has such a big heart.  For example one of the parents came in with her 3yr old daughter for the Valentines Day party. When the kids started playing Hunter went over and asked the Mom if he could color with the little girl.  She said he was so good with her.  She also said that whenever someone is hurt he is the first to go and make sure they are ok.  I'm glad we are raising such a good caring little boy.  Below are a few of the things haning outside of their classroom that I thought I would share.  She said they don't tell kids how to spell things that they are encouraged to sound them out and spell them how they sound.  I always get a kick out of seeing what he comes up with so I hope by sharing these you do too.

They had to write a story about a place they like to go and visit in the picture above. He liked going to Sant Loois (St. Louis)

writing about the things they love

Girl's Day

Last saturday Lexi and I had a girls day together just the two of us (which we don't get to do often)!  Since Uncle Kelsey and Dirk took Hunter to see Star Wars 3D we decided to go into town and get new stuff to do our nails.  Lexi saw the cutest little girls stick on nails and had to have them.  We had such a great time painting toe nails and doing our finger nails together.

Lexi ready to get her nail stuff (not a great picture taken from my phone)

Her finished toes and finger nails.  Can't wait to have another girls day!
