Lexi has pierced ears!!

Lexi has wanted her ears pierced for a while now but has been too scared.  She decided today that she wanted to get them done but wanted to see the store first.  Of course she needed Emma there for support since she already had hers done years ago.  Emma was such a great helper and kept telling Lexi it didn't hurt, which was cute because Emma got hers done at 6 months old. LOL.  We got there and I told her it was up to her that she didn't have to if she didn't want to.  She wanted to look at the earrings you got to pick from first and once she saw you could get Hello Kitty she was sold.  She showed no fear and hopped right up onto the chair.  I did ask if she wanted to hold her baby (which I brought in my purse just in case she wanted it) and she did.  She was so brave the whole time.  The girl said she was going to do them fast and she did a great job!  Once the first one was done Lexi teared up and said it stung and by the time she was done saying it the second ear was done.  To help with her ears the girl and Tina at the same time put the ear solution on her ears and it cooled them right off.  After that she jumped right down smiled for a picture and said "come on Emma lets go shop now".  She can't wait for pretty earrings at Aunt Erin's wedding because she saw so many to choose from!  On the way home we asked her if it hurt and she said "no" it just scared her for a minute more than it hurting.  Such a big girl now!

just picke out her earrings and ready to go

Emma there for support

first one done and still smiling

this is where she said it stung and was tearing up, you start to see the worried look on her face

a second later she had shed a few tears and now she is done and no tears!

A few seconds after that and she is down smiling and ready to go shop!  She was such a brave girl today.  She keeps looking at herself in the mirror to check out her new earrings.

New Years Eve 2011

Aunt Erin and Uncle Kesley spent New Years Eve at our house.  We ate food, drank, played games, and watched movies.  It was a great relaxing night spent with family.  Jon and Tammy stopped by early in the evening for a bit before they went on to their next stop for the night.  I didn't take many pictures but here are a few from the night.

Hunter fell asleep right before midnight.  Poor kid just couldn't make it any longer :)

Christmas with Ben 2011

Christmas dinner at our house.  Ben was back which the kids loved.  We took our annual picture with our Griswold t-shirts.

Tina wanted the look and find game like Cheryl has but my mom couldn't find it so she made one up and put money on the inside for her to buy one when the store got more.  I thought it was very creative and cute!

Swim Lessons

In November we started the kids in swim lessons at the Hawthorne pool in Galesburg.  They go twice a week and love it.  We decided with the holidays we wouldn't sign them up for December but it's January and we have started again.  Hunter did so well in his first class in November that now he has moved up to the next class.  Lexi will probably be in her class for awhile because she wasn't the water bug that Hunter was when he was younger.  Lexi had the tubes in her ears so she didn't get used to going under water until now.  These were some of the pictures from their classes in November.

Excited to start swimming!!

Hunter does well on his own like he is here.  He said he prefers to swim under water though.

At the end of class the kids get to go off of the diving board.  Hunter can come up and swim to the edge of the pool on his own.  He is my little fish!

Hunter Shooting his bow

Hunter loves shooting his bow.  He can't wait to go hunting with Daddy when he gets older!

He actually hit the target!!
